Haley E. Puryear, O.D.

Dr. Haley E. Puryear graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and received her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2014 where she was awarded clinical honors at all four externship sites during her fourth year. She maintained Dean’s List honors throughout her optometric education, was nominated for Colleague of the Year, and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and Tomb and Key Honor
Fraternities. She received Magna Cum Laude honors upon graduation.

Dr. Puryear has resided in Mount Vernon, her hometown, since 2015 after returning from completion of her education and employment in Dallas, Texas. She has worked in both private practice optometry, as well as with an ophthalmologist co-managing surgery patients and ocular disease. She is a Mount Vernon Key Club member and former First Vice President, and has served as a mentor in Mount Vernon Cares. Dr. Puryear enjoys reading cookbooks, learning to play the piano, and being a part of a worship band.

As a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, Dr. Puryear is looking forward to serving the community in which she grew up and also raising her family here with her husband, also a native of Mount Vernon.
